The weather was terrible today.. cold., rainy.. thank goodness for the weekend... We have had some much rain that if I could find one of those biblical baskets in the basement, I would be looking to put an outrigger on it and paddle down the street. There is something to be said about the gentle sound of rain rolling across the roof, its almost calming... but when it sounds like a fire hose being shut back up the gutters you wonder if its ever gonna stop... Toots and I had the fun luck of running around in it tonight... or should I say waddling and walking alongside holding the umbrella...
I realized tonight just how prepared Toots really is, how over the top she is about having everything she can control, planned out with the accuracy of a surgeon. We went to the mandatory baptism class tonight at our church... and we were the only ones there that hadn't given birth yet... These good folks already had their bundle of joy and they are just now planning the Baptism... Heck, Dot is already enrolled in SLG, High School picked out ( She will go where Big Sis went or to Sacred Heart) and her first car has already been decided... big boat...the more metal the better... cause Toots already knows she is going to be a so so driver... And the people sitting with us haven't even picked out a baptismal outfit...or planned the menu... Having someone so efficient and in full speed ahead nesting, prepping and "get out of my way" mode makes my life easy at times, has it fun moment and makes stop, drop and roll seem like a party game...
OK 27 days, working on a dream... Actually, I have added yet another interesting bell to the few whistles on the blog... over there.. right above the counter that has had center stage since day two... right below the words " Guess Dot's Name"... is a line that is underlined.. Click there to make a guess... a page will pop-up.. you make your guess... hit the x up in the top right hand corner and go about your day... I have added this little survey to expand on the fun of the count down... notice I put it over the counter... I don't know why.. but I can only guess that I am trying to deflect some of the focus away from the tick.. tick.. tick..of the counter... forcing my subconscious to stop looking at the days left.. replacing that thought with wonder of... what the name of the day is... no fear... both the survey and the counter are set to stop on the same day, same time... and why shouldn't they... (It worked... I didn't fixate or have some philosophical statement about time...)
Well to use a Toots quote.. "pretty flat and dull" post tonight... while the kiddos experience re-engagement in their recurring routine... Me, my day and schedule keeps it metronome pace... day after day after day... swinging between work, kids, Toots... and work... kids... with the occasional move, hang, paint... but always back to the measured notes of my schedule.
Good night... Keep those cards and letters coming...

Really enjoy reading this Blog.
