Put Me in Coach...I'm Ready to Play

You ever have one of those days where you start at the crack of dawn and go nonstop until you crash in bed.... Today was one of those days... everything fell in place, all things went off without a hitch and we were hitting on all eight. The best part of day like this is that you get this feeling or have this sense of accomplishment.. knowing that it all worked out fine in the end.... Or as the Hannibal use to say.. I love it when a plan comes together...

Day started out with Baseball... Couldn't have asked for a better day... sun was shining, grass was mowed... and the kids were ready to play. The kid from practice was at it again... Asked me why the grass was wet.... I said maybe it rained last night... He yells to his father from second base.. "dad did it rain last night..." No was the response... I say to him ... maybe it rained this morning... again he yells to his Dad... Did it rain this morning... Again the response is no... ( I felt like Uncle Buck....)... He looks at me as if to say... you have no idea why the grass is wet... but instead says... It's OK, I'd rather be home playing Xbox... followed by... you know what a a good sport is.. Boxing.. I like boxing.. can we box instead of play baseball... I have a feeling this kid is going to provide me with some good comic relief over the next 6 weeks... he closed the day out with his pants falling down as he yelled to his father.. told you they were to big.. do you think they belong down here...

Little Guy played a great game, he was paying attention and actually into doing well... Started the game at first base where he and the third baseman were able to turn a couple of nice outs... He switched over to third and was on the throwing side of some more... He crushed the ball each at bat... I have to say.. Big Sis has taught him finesse and his other brothers ( Neighbors older boys) have taught him not to be afraid... He is starting to appreciate the game more... Heck, he actually got a good game from his sister...

Baseball rolled into house work, while Toots and Big Sis went off to run errands... They returned.. to Little Guy having a friend over... I took Big Sis to a friend's house for a sleep over... All the while I started a nesting project... or should say continued a project... the crown molding in the bathroom... Happy to say it is installed and looks good... tomorrow I finish the molding in Big Sis room... Little guy wanted to know if his was done.. I said yes...he runs into his room.. returns happy...Tells me it looks good and give me a thumbs up... Goes to show how much they even look in their rooms... his crown molding has been up since we moved in... But I'll take the compliment...

Day rolled into night and a short walk to get Little Guy from a friend's house, turned into several hours of relaxing... hanging with the neighbors... only to return to write this and close the day out...

Counter... 29 days... by the time I wake up 28 days.. just goes to show you that no matter what you do or what you write.. you cannot stop time... can't speed it up, can't slow it down... it just ticks..ticks..ticks... away... We get asked a lot now.. when is the baby due... usually followed by are you excited... Once I would love to answer no... just to see the look I get back... Of course we are excited... Realized also.... we get a lot of are you ready... not in do you have blankets, bibs and bassinets... more like wow you guys are kind of old to be having a kid.. are you ready to do it all over again... Two answers yes.. and we have no choice... Dots coming around the mountain... and we couldn't be more excited...

Having been caught up in the nesting over the past few days... has put me in awe of what Toots and all mom's go through while pregnant.. My body is aching in ways that it ain't use too... Lifting, nailing, painting, sawing... and pushing... has left me sore, achy, tired and at times unable to get my butt out of a chair... that's a week for me.. not 9 months... Hats off...

That is it for Saturday... Good Night.. keep those cards and letters coming in...
