Wow.. heavy stuff.. nobody has complained or said any thing negative.. I just have not been thrilled with what I feel is some of the forced stuff I have been reviewing. At the end of the day, it has to draw me back....scratch that itch that started this ride.... and it has!
On with the day, We had new surrogate nesters in... the last ones just didn't know how to clean the nest right... They were foreign birds who couldn't "tweet" English... Crew today had Toots happy and pleased... She actually didn't have to re-nest after they left... The house is almost there with the exception of the new room.. Spoke with the contractor today and he could start in a two weeks.. Very funny story... When I called him today and he apologized for not calling me over the past few weeks. He stammered a little.. only to say, I was afraid something happen and , I just don't know how to deal with stuff like that... Construction, guess we need to see when those two weeks would really start and make the decision to wait until after Dot arrives... like everything else it will work itself out in the end.. Crisis are that way.. no matter how bad or dark it is at the moment.. there is always light at the end of the tunnel...
Big Sis had a wide-eyed smack in your face realization today... After all these years of buying trinkets and souvenirs at the circus, fair, zoo... she was on a class trip to Medieval Times... prior to leaving she asked for some money to buy a t-shirt and to get something for Little Guy... all she wanted was 20 bucks.. When she hopped in the car today with a Burger King paper crown and empty glass... is when she expressed her amazement at... the cost of things.. this glass Dad cost 10 dollars and it had some disgusting strawberry goo in it.. and see those swords and cardboard shield.. those kids actually paid 40 dollars... She said she would rather spend her money on something she really wants or needs.. Little guy on the other hands still is looking to shake the money tree to go buy a new DSi... He has devised a plan to take the new $130 DS and return it to the store for a credit...($25) and have us pay the rest... he thinks it is a great deal... We have other plans...
We had a softball game today... Driving to the game, I stopped at the sweet shop that was down the street from where I grew up... Told Toots.. I haven't been here since I was 13 or 14... further up the road at the ball field, I said it again... I haven't been on these fields since I was a little kid... In the trip between the shop and field, we drove past the old sandpit where we lived as kids... and said it again.. Slightly different.. I can remember doing this or that out there... all three places had the clock impact or memory of time... the sweet shop.. two thing hit me... the pinball machine that use to be in the corner.. and running from our house to the store with a buck in my pocket to get bread and a packet of Winston's for my mother... Sand pit.. I could feel the sand embedded in my hair from the underground forts... and for some odd reason I recall standing on the side of the field with my dad... don't remember why we were there.. just remember standing at his side... By the way, we won the Softball game... and again Toots heard it a 100 times... you look great... and folks they mean it... outside of the "Dot Pod" and the swollen feet.. she looks great... people are amazed that she it is only 24 days away.
Counter time... 24 days, Looking at 24 days... I wonder what I will be feeling, when I write 24 hours... we can wait 23 days for that... right now we have 2 dozen days to dream about what Dot will look like... ( I know, she looks just like Toots...) wonder if we will be lucky again have a baby that actually sleeps through the night... If she doesn't, all it means is we get to watch late night educational shows together... 24 days to make sure the bins and baskets are full.... 576 hours to slide this piece of furniture and inch there or a foot there... two weeks and 3 days of waiting for Dot and all the changes she will bring...
Before I close out Jersey RB suggested that I do a PSA about the car warranty calls and letters we all get... She happen to be sitting in our kitchen when I got one of these calls... I asked the caller to please tell me what car he was calling about... and he couldn't answer... it is a scam... Don't bother asking to be taken of their list... it will only increase the frequency of calls...
That's it for tonight.... thanks for stopping by... keep those letter and cards coming in.. I added a name feature to the "guess the Name" section so we can congratulate the winner if one of you is luck enough to guess the name...
Be Good
