Take me out to the ball game....

Last two days have seen a flurry of activities around the homestead. The changes to the house dwarf the nesting activities that have occurred in preparation for the arrival of Dot. Seems that early arrival really had us with many unfinished things that were on the scrolls of to do items... The wash machine if it had human traits, would be feeling like a Chinese laundry...it has been nonstop washing and drying of all the clothes. The washing and drying is followed by folding and storing of the smallest little things. post baby nesting continues with furniture being rearranged, baby stuff being moved from one place to the other and the introduction of more baby apparatus. where there was a chair now sits a swing, where there as a table sits a pack and play... Dot has over taken the house and we love every second of it!

Had my folks in for the day and Toot's mom has arrived for week or so to help her and us deal with new activities as well as the existing events that Dot can't stop. all these visits and additional help are being done for this little baby...

She is so small, with the normal weight lose she is now at 6lbs 1oz. she is so tiny I can't change her diaper with out help. Mind you it is not because I don't want to.. my be meat hooks just don't seem to have the dexterity to maneuver a diaper the size of a postage stamp, while dealing with the little gorilla legs twisting and kicking... Dot found her voice today, was wailing away, the sounds echoed throughout the house.. funny it actually sounded like music... I know in a few weeks it is going to be wearing thin and we will have the frustration of not being able to clam her ..wishing she could tell us what was wrong...

Toots is doing and looking great. she has the baby routine down pat and Dot has bonded to her very nicely. She is radiant when tending to Dot and Dot response to the love in the sweetest ways. Too watch mother and child sleep is precious, to watch Toots in the dark changing and feeding her....reminds me that these are moments to treasure and store away forever.

Tonight found me and the kiddos at a baseball game. We had to arrive almost two hours early because the entire league was being invited onto the field, This invite conjured up images in the kids of being announced over the PA system... now entering the field..field.. Big Sis... starting pitcher.. or little guys vision of being able to steal home... much to our surprise.. all they got to do was walk the parameter of the field... no touching of the grass.. just walk.. I spent the entire game standing, watching over the kiddos as they went about there social interactions with friends and strangers that quickly became friends.

We must be doing something right... because big sis and little guy still are capable of drawing people in the same way Dot does, they have the personalities that make people want to be near them, the silliness to make everyone laugh and the compassion to make sure everyone is attended to. these characteristics are seen with friends, family, definitely Dot...I only wish they would treat each other the same way.

Tomorrow continues the prayers to the rain gods.. to hold off for day... we need to get a game or two in this weekend as the season is almost over. should be a challenge tomorrow.. two games in two different towns....

OK one more picture...

That's it for tonight... check back tomorrow or the next for more updates on the every changing family landscape! Keep those letter and cards coming in...

Good night and be good
