Who'll stop the rain....

Day two of the house invasion. Dot is home and settling in like the perfect house guest. She is definitely a part of this family and has the "stuff all over the house" gene to prove it, which I am sure has a strong linkage to the "Save all the stuff around the house" gene. Every room in every corner is Dot stuff. I believe in two days, she has accumulated more stuff than she will use in 100 years. One would think that she is going to stay tiny forever!

Night one was so uneventful that if we didn't have all this stuff strewn around the homestead, we would be hard pressed to know there was another person living under our roof. She is so quiet and fuss free that it has me nervous for when she turns the corner and wants to be heard... Big Sis and Little guy are on cloud nine... spening as much time as possible, Toots has settled in to a routine.

I did my first run in several years to baby R Us, for those of you that haven't been in as many years I have... there is more stuff that I had no idea what it was for or why a baby would need it.. Pack-n-Play setup that look like Barbie's townhouse... two levels, elevator and hot and cold running... strollers that had lease plans because they cost more than my first car... I think one of them actual came with a Graco GPS, with built in tags for bathrooms with changing tables.. The wall of diapers was more overwhelming than the racks in the library of congress... They actually have organic diapers... not sure how they work but.. I think a brown paper sack would work better... of course I couldn't find the diapers that Dot needs... size 0 diapers appears to be made only for those super model babies... by the best designers...

Outside of the sunshine Dot brought into the house these past two days, we have yet again been deluged by rain. Keep checking my mail to see if my address is Seattle and not NJ. all this rain is eating into softball and baseball... fields are more like swamps better suited for fishing than pitching... I am hoping we can get a game in before basketball starts... we need sunshine... I need the beach... 20 more days until the beach club opens... I need to feel the sun on my face and my toes in the sand... looking forward to hitting the breakers for my afternoon cigar...

Had a realization today, a little off track from what I write but it struck me hard today... it is as hard now to order a cup of coffee at Dunk'in donuts as it is at Starbucks... I always have a hard time at SB, ordering Toots, white vanilla half this half that, no whip, skim coffee.. I would just point and hope I got the right one... at DD today I could not order a large coffee because the store changed managements and nobody spoke English... While on the subject of customer service... I got email from Volvo today.. asking me to provide feedback on my buying experience... needless to say.. I had fun... can only image the statistician who has to figure out where in the reports to put car burst in to flames 250 yards away from dealership... Like I said before Quality is job one... unless of course it is almost lunchtime and somebody else can worry about it...

Full house this next few days, my parents, Toots mom are all in for baby unveiling and grandparents day... and Big Sis science fair... her project and the rest of the 6th grades had to create edible cells... try making a scientifically correct model of a plant cell out of food... go ahead.. just think about it... my contribution was melting jolly ranchers into a nucleus... at least I got that part down for Little Guy and Dot's turn...

Well that is it for the night.. tomorrow will be picture worth a few thousand words night... with both black and white and the much requested color photos... until than.. keep those cards and letters coming..

good night and be good..
