Dot is sleeping like a baby..and already excelling past her peers.. Toots was told today Dot was the best baby in the nursery.. low maintenance.. How often do you think I will hear that statement about my girls... stop laughing... So we have gone from nesting to lists... each trip to the hospital, I get a list of things to bring and return to and from home. Of course Toots is telling me to get the light green blanket with white bows that have a hint of something or other in them.... she forgets I am color blind.... been good so far, haven't brought the wrong thing but I do have one more day.
Tomorrow for me restarts the car seat wars... sure I can re-enforce an ancient bassinet and wow Little guy with my ability to use crazy glue to fix something.. but car seats... last time I did a car seat it was the biggest battle trying to get my hand behind the seat to grab the seat belt... than apply enough downward pressure to make the seat belt super tight.. never really worked.. the seat still always moved an inch or two... than we discovered the tether... great invention... another strap that hook to the top and to some unreachable piece of metal deep under the seat... now it is a base, with it's own adjustable straps that connect in sequence to two different metal hooks that are equally unreachable... good news is that it goes in super tight.. no wiggle room or need to sit on it to get the belt that extra inch tight...Betcha its a bitch to get out... if only I could move it an inch to reach the straps... I just wish , the truck had a hump.. we could plop her right on down and watch her roll on corners... isn't that the way most of use were secured in cars .... the next adventure for our low maintenance girl is a stroller.. not any stroller but some German engineered graphite metal, no flat tires contraption that can go on land, air or sea... with out missing a step... I promise to send picture by the end of the summer of me carrying this go anywhere stroller of the future over my shoulder while trudging off the beach... Tonight I'll stick to the mechanical devices that are suppose to make our lives with Dot simple and carefree... Another night, we can talk about the things without moving parts that makes no sense..
so a few days into the year.. and I have already started equating ages and ability to changing seasons... like this year.. Dot will be in a stroller ( Aforementioned high tech panzer stroller) but by the start of little league next year... Toots or I will be chasing after her as she unsteadily walks away... Looking over the past few days, I have seen Big Sis grow in yet another direction.. she is the proud sister... ready for dress up and such... but also kicking in to be a helper of sorts.. yes she wants to hold the baby.. but she also has been a huge help to me these past few days.. Little Guy hasn't grasped that Dot is coming home... or if he has.. he doesn't realize what is in store... I am sure that he will be fine, nose a little out of joint but the normal pattern of the house will return... for awhile... that is until Dot stops sleeping like a baby....
A wow story... or an oh my god story.. going down the elevator today... did the male bonding thing.. guy next to me looked at my shackled wrist ( Need security tags to get in and out of the floor) and asked boy or girl... I proceeded to tell him the story of Dot in three part harmony...telling him about the blog and all the funny things I mentioned... than asked him the same... and he topped my tale of newborns and growing families and said boy... this was followed by ...your first.. Sounding like an old pro... I said no.. third... he smirked... and said... his 8th...I thought I saw a tear... I held the door for him when we hit the lobby...
Well that brings us to the end of broadcast day... keep those letters and cards coming in...
Good night be Good..

Keep the blog please. So you know, your blog is great and at times even better when you are tired. You could write a best seller if Toots had Double Dots [twins]. Best of luck to your family.
